DUMFRIES BAPTIST CHURCH CENTRE

The feature window for the new Dumfries Baptist Church Centre was designed and created after close consultation with church members. Incorporating coloured resin and sandblasted techniques, the double glazed window symbolises Baptism and the life giving qualities of water. The three stripes represent the Trinity with the dominant circle denoting all things eternal, referencing the sacred texts of Hermes Trismegistus; ”God is a circle whose centre is everywhere and whose circumference is nowhere”. Inside the circle an olive branch symbolises Peace, whilst the elm leaves at the foot of the window convey dignity, faithfulness and creation. Elements of the design were subsequently adopted for both the internal glazing and corporate identity of the church centre. Architect: McLean Architects
