FEATURE GLASS FACADE, SQUARE CHAPEL ARTS CENTRE

Inspired by the trees and natural forms that surround the newly refurbished and extended arts centre, the art glass facade was created with a combination of digitally printed interlayer panels and deep sandblasting. The full size tree, sandblasted on the interior panes of the double glazed units, extends from ground level to the roof of the cafe bar on the first floor. Colour from the upper panels combines with the shadows formed by the sandblasting to create dynamic and ever changing lighting effects in the building, giving both a real sense of 'bringing the outside in' whilst softening and making more naturalistic the range of materials in the modern interior space.  Architect: Evans Vettori
